Tips to Preventing Stretch Marks (Without Product)

In the last post, we covered the basics of stretch marks: what they are and how to prevent using a proven system.  If you haven’t read it, start there and then meet us back here for more juicy tips.

In addition to using a stretch mark treatment, there are a few things you can do to help prevent stretch marks from occurring in the first place.

Prevent Stretch Marks Naturally

As in, drink lots of it! I probably don’t need to dive deep into this subject, but I will just say that drinking ample water will keep your skin hydrated, help with the stretching process and aid in natural and healthy detoxification.  So just do it!

By exfoliating your skin regularly, you are aiding in the removal of dead skin cells and encouraging the process of healthy skin cell turnover.  The exfoliation process will not only increase healthy & repairing blood flow to the skin surface, but will prevent the formation of new stretch marks in the first place.

Some experts argue that consistent exfoliation is just as crucial as the moisturizing process in some body types. Daily exfoliation is not necessary and can even over-irritate the area, but 2-3 times per week is not only beneficial, but ideal.

While Seni Naturals uses tons of Vitamins A, C and E as well as Omegas and fatty acids in our formulated treatments, taking your own supplements is highly beneficial as well.

Along with your prenatal multi-vitamin, you can take a Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Omega 3 and 6 supplement to help nurture from within.   Getting these from fruits and vegetables in addition to taking your supplement is the best way to up your stretch mark prevention regimine!

Improving the circulation of healthy blood flow to the skin will help keep healthy cell production churning, increase the elasticity of your skin’s surface and aid in the repairing of your skin’s layers.

I’m not suggestion you take up crossfit or marathoning if you haven’t done so throughout your rockstar pregnancy, but walking for a half hour is a great start.  Another great way to get the blood flowing effectively is some safe stretching and prenatal yoga.   Plus, it’s great for the baby and your future labor!

I say it again and again.  And again.

Consistency is key when treating and preventing stretch marks.  You have to make it a religious daily habit, all day & everyday.  Everyday, meaning treat your belly and growing areas both morning and nighttime.  All day, meaning that you should reapply part of the treatment at the first signs of oncoming or occurring irritation and itchiness.   This is when your skin is stretching! Itch = treat now!

Key Ingredients

Again, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of ingredients when choosing a stretch mark formulation.  You can read all about our Trimester Stretch Mark Prevention treatment along with our key components of Vitamins A, B, C, D and E, fatty acids and omegas and purposeful essential oils.   Ingredients are key to efficacy.
